Not only does the Cyperus Umbrella Plant enjoy moist conditions, but can also grow submerged in water and can be used as a pond, swamp, or aquarium plant. It has a wonderful tropical look and can be grown in pots indoors or out.

I was expecting some small plant, received seeds.Not a single seed sprouted. I planted in the same spot the one's I bought at Lowe's and they all sprouted.I purchased these seads and I planted them but they never grow.see image 1: Cyperus produces very tiny seeds, almost like pollen specs so take care in opening the packet. Plant the seeds in shallow soil in small starter pots. If the soil is too deep and the seeds get washed under, thet won't have the strength to reach the surface so only a couple inches of dirt total. Avoid splashing the pot whether seeds or sprouts, use a spray bottle. After five weeks, the first new shoot appeared (see images.) Then every few days more sprouted up. Seven weeks later they were fifteen sprouts that resembled thin blades of grass. If you keep them happy they will begin growing the thin reed stems with their fan shaped leaves that we associate with Cyperus. This plant is a good challenge for botany enthusiasts and a nice addition to your indoor plant colony. Over the next year and a half I grew two plants from one packet of seeds and those plants are getting respectably tall (see images.)As expectedThey were very small plants, but very healthy.Don't waste your money, I received supposedly 50seeds I looked at the bag and couldn't see a thing, I requested my money back and nothing never heard a word. It was only 2.50 for the seeds but 2.50 is 2.50 than $2.50 for shipping which they could of put in a regular letter envelope since there was no weight and shipped for 50 centsTiny seeds which are difficult to plant
